Users of Spotify’s desktop service will now be able to read the lyrics of the songs they play, thanks to a new integration with Musixmatch.
However, the update – being rolled out in the next few weeks – will see the phasing out of third-party applications from Spotify’s desktop client. A new Lyrics button, located next to the play bar, has been designed to give users an area to help them to “start singing along”. Note: Your Spotify account will never be integrated with a third-party app without your explicit permission to do so. Go to your Apps page for the list of apps your account’s integrated with. To remove the access of a third-party app: Log in to your Apps page. Find the app you want to remove and click REMOVE ACCESS. The addition is part of a new update to Spotify’s desktop service that also brings improvements to Spotify’s Friend Feed, as well as the introduction of daily viral charts and region-based playcounts in the platform’s chart section.
